Robert Riggs is a student of the City University of New York, a Vera Institute of Justice Fellow, and a Thomas W. Smith Academic Fellow. He is currently working in the anthropology department at John Jay College on a Justice Department Study aimed at estimating the scope of the problem of underage prostitution in the United States and on the Center for Disease Control’s National HIV Behavioral Surveillance project. Robert is an associate researcher at Bard College’s Bard Prison Initiative, one of a mere handful of college-in-prison programs operating in New York State. His research interests include problems related to the prison and the phenomenon of “mass incarceration.”
